Deep Tissue Massage

Deep tissue massage, although a non-clinical therapy, is aimed at releasing the body’s deeper layer of muscles and connective tissues. This is sometimes also referred to as ‘myofascial release’. As well as hands and fingertips, knuckles, forearms and elbows may also be used to stretch and knead more challenging areas of tissue. This is designed to remove lactic acid build-up, whilst improving muscle tone and flexibility. Some techniques require the application of considerable amounts of pressure, this will always be clearly communicated and worked within your comfort zone.

Whilst Deep Tissue massage does not offer diagnosis of injury, the treatment is aimed at preventing and treating sports injuries; improving athletic performance and promoting emotional stress relief. Deep Tissue massage can also be useful for those who perform repetitive work that causes considerable strain on muscles or joints. This treatment is performed with hypoallergenic massage lotion to reduce friction and increase client comfort. Deep Tissue massage uses medium-firm pressure for restoration and correction.
